Dear Declaration FamilyAccelerate
has been a powerful series, and I trust that God is using it to challenge each of us to continue to walk in faith—which is precisely what I want to encourage in light of a lot of unknowns right now.
2 Timothy 1:7 tells us that: "For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind."
We wanted to update you where we are as a church with the news of the coronavirus (COVID-19) affecting both our local and global communities. Always know, we place the highest value on offering a safe and healthy environment for our church family and guests to gather and worship and take their next step towards Christ.Weekend Services:
In light of CISD closing and our County Judge, Mark Keough, giving an order of ceasing public gatherings, we have made the hard decision to SUSPEND our normal Sunday worship gatherings
at Snyder Elementary until we've been given the all clear from our President, our County Judge & Conroe Independent School District.
We will, however, be hosting online, interactive church services
at our regular service times of 9am and 11am
. Please make plans to join us each Sunday
as we continue to be
the church, even if we can't 'go
' to church!
These online services will take place on our Facebook page (facebook.com/declarehim
) and our website (Declaration.org
). Currently, we are working on a brand new and exciting Declaration Digital platform that will be hosted at Declaration.TV.Small Groups:
Due to President Trump asking for us to limit our groups sizes to ten, we have made the hard decision to disband our in person small group gatherings throughout the area. Your safety and health our are priority right now. The good news is, technology has given us the ability to still meet virtually
, and we are encouraging our groups to continue to meet via platforms like google hang outs & zoom. We know that some groups are still desiring deeply to meet, so we will leave that to your discretion as long as you don't exceed the limit of ten. Each group should check with their leader for any changes, and please, feel total freedom to practice discretion as you see fit! If, for any reason, you don't feel 100%, let your group know so they can pray for you and consider staying home until you are feeling better to minimize any risks to you, your family, and your church family.Student Small Groups:
At this time we have made the hard decision to discontinue hosting our mid-week student small group activities until further notice. Please help your students stay connected by having them follow our student ministry on Instagram and YouTube.
Here's one place they can connect:Student Ministry InstragramPrayer Gatherings:
During this time, we will be hosting some small prayer gatherings to be broadcasted live, held at the Declaration Warehouse. We will also be launching prayer gatherings through Facebook & Zoom. Please keep an eye out for information on these to be shared through our social media channels and email.Facility Care:
At the warehouse, we will be taking precautions to disinfect even more stringently than we already do, to ensure a safe and clean environment. We will be wiping down doors, door handles, stair rails, and cleaning bathrooms before and after activities to hopefully eradicate any potential possibility of illness. We will also be adding additional hand sanitizing stations in the different common areas.Ways to Stay Connected:
Weekly message podcasts and small groups are recommended ways to connect and engage within the life of Declaration during this time. Small Groups Weekly PodcastWays You Can Help:
Continue to Pray
– Pray for those in our church and for our leadership. Pray for continued wisdom, strength, and discretion as we navigate through this difficult moment together. Let's continue to pray for healing and strength for our community, state, nation, and world. Pray for health officials, our local, state, and federal government, and our president and vice-president to have wisdom, creativity, and insight in how to lead our nation through this time. Pray for calm and peace to overcome fear and anxiety.Continue to Give
– Please continue to stay connected online by listening to messages, reading email and social media updates, and giving financially as you are led to help provide ongoing sustainability for Declaration Church. Online GivingDonate Supplies
– Do you have extra disinfectant wipes, hand sanitizer, or Lysol spray you'd like to donate? Please feel free to bring any items we can disperse as the need arises to the Declaration Warehouse. We know that these items are hard to come by these days, so any contribution will help!
If there are any specific needs you have during this time, please feel free to reach out via email at email@example.com
. We will follow up with each and every need addressed.
I know that fear and worry can be very real, but, let me say, our God is also very real! We need God's peace, care, and power to keep us centered upon His will and purposes during this time—surely all the time, but especially now. Let me encourage you with this:"Don't worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God's peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise."
May the peace of God guard your heart, mind, soul, spirit, and body in Christ. Additional Resources: Kaiser Permanente Public Information about Coronavirus CDC Website CDC Updates for Churches
