SCRIPTURES:

You may think you can condemn such people, but you are just as bad, and you have no excuse! When you say they are wicked and should be punished, you are condemning yourself, for you who judge others do these very same things. And we know that God, in his justice, will punish anyone who does such things. Since you judge others for doing these things, why do you think you can avoid God’s judgment when you do the same things? Don’t you see how wonderfully kind, tolerant, and patient God is with you? Does this mean nothing to you? Can’t you see that his kindness is intended to turn you from your sin?

DEVOTIONAL:

Some people think repentance is for the “bad years” of their life. But Romans says repentance is a response to kindness - ongoing kindness. God’s kindness doesn’t ignore sin; it overcomes it with mercy and truth. If you’ve been running because you feel dirty, hear this: God’s kindness is chasing you, not to crush you, but to bring you home.

Today, let repentance be relational: not “I’m sorry I got caught,” but “I’m sorry I drifted.” The Father is not tired of forgiving. He’s tired of watching you live far away.

QUESTIONS:

1. Do I relate to God like a judge - or like a Father?
2. What area of my life needs a “turn around” today?
3. What kindness of God have I overlooked recently?

PRAYER:

Father, thank You for Your kindness. I turn from sin and toward You. Restore closeness. Restore joy. Amen.

FASTING FOCUS:

Write down 5 moments of evidence of God’s kindness in your life. Let gratitude fuel repentance.
