SCRIPTURES:

So I placed armed guards behind the lowest parts of the wall in the exposed areas. I stationed the people to stand guard by families, armed with swords, spears, and bows. Then as I looked over the situation, I called together the nobles and the rest of the people and said to them, “Don’t be afraid of the enemy! Remember the Lord, who is great and glorious, and fight for your brothers, your sons, your daughters, your wives, and your homes!”

David replied to the Philistine, “You come to me with sword, spear, and javelin, but I come to you in the name of the Lord of Heaven’s Armies - the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied. Today the Lord will conquer you, and I will kill you and cut off your head. And then I will give the dead bodies of your men to the birds and wild animals, and the whole world will know that there is a God in Israel! And everyone assembled here will know that the Lord rescues his people, but not with sword and spear. This is the Lord’s battle, and he will give you to us!”

DEVOTIONAL:

When the building starts, the resistance shows up. And Nehemiah does

something powerful: he calls people to remember the Lord - great and

awesome -and to fight for what matters.

David steps toward Goliath with the same fuel: God’s name will be

honored. God’s people won’t be intimidated. This is where many visions die - when fear gets loud. But courage isn’t the absence of fear; it’s obedience in spite of it.

Today, remember the Lord. Then take the next step.

QUESTIONS:

1. What “giant” has been intimidating my obedience?
2. What am I fighting for that actually matters (faith, family, purity,
calling)?
3. What does courageous obedience look like in the next 24 hours?

PRAYER:

Lord, make me brave. I will not bow to fear. I choose obedience. Strengthen my hands for the good work. Amen.

FASTING FOCUS:

Fast fear-talk. Speak faith out loud today.
