SCRIPTURE:
I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like me. I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come. I say, My purpose will stand, and I will do all that please.
DEVOTIONAL:
The most unsettling thing about the news is the feeling that no one is in control. Events cascade. Leaders fail. Crises compound. Commentators speak as though history is a runaway vehicle with no driver. The anxiety that floods the digital world is not simply emotional — it is theological. Underneath the fear is a question: is there anyone actually sovereign here? Is anyone steering this? Does anyone know how this ends?
Isaiah 46:10 is one of the most staggering claims in all of Scripture. God says He declares the end from the beginning. Not that He watches and reacts. Not that He recovers and pivots. He declares the end from the beginning — because He has always known. The chaos you see in the headlines is not news to Him. It is part of a story He has been writing since before the world began, with a conclusion that has already been decided. The throne of God has never been on high alert. He has never once been surprised.
Today’s food fast is a physical act of releasing grip — and let it carry a specific prayer. Every time hunger surfaces today, name one specific fear and hand it to the God who said “My purpose will stand.” The political situation you cannot fix. The future you cannot predict. The family member you cannot control. The nation you are worried about. Hand them over to the One who makes known the end from the beginning. The sky is not falling. The God behind that statement is still standing behind it. And that is enough.
DAILY VERSE:

PRAYER:
Lord, I come hungry today — and I bring with me specific fears. Headlines I have read. Situations I cannot solve. Futures I cannot control. I lay them here before the God who made the end known from the beginning. You are not nervous. You have not lost the plot. Today I fast to remember that. I trust you with what I cannot manage, and I offer that trust as the only act of worship I have today. Amen.

FRIDAY FOOD FAST — Sunrise to Sunset
No solid food from sunrise until sunset. Drink water throughout the day. This is the second Friday Food Fast of the 21 days, and it falls two days before a message about fear, headlines, and the sovereignty of God. Let every hunger pang today carry a specific prayer — one fear you are handing to God. Tonight at sundown, break your fast slowly and with gratitude. As a companion to the food fast, stay off all social media today as well.
