“You do not need more strategy. You need more of the Holy Spirit. When you are full of Him, you will not have to think about influence — it will simply overflow.” — A.W. Tozer
SCRIPTURE:
On the last and greatest day of the festival, Jesus stood and said in a loud voice, Let anyone who is thirsty come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them.
DEVOTIONAL:
The setting matters here. Jesus was standing in the middle of the Feast of Tabernacles — the largest, loudest celebration in the Jewish calendar. Tens of thousands of pilgrims. The sound of shofars and singing and dancing in the streets. And Jesus stood up in the middle of it all and made the most intimate offer imaginable: if you are thirsty, come to me. Not to the temple. Not to the ritual. Not to the feast itself. Come to me.
The promise He made is staggering in its specificity. Not a trickle. Not a drip. Rivers. Plural. Living water — the kind that moves, the kind that refreshes, the kind you cannot bottle and store. The Greek word used here is potamos — rushing rivers, the kind that carve through rock over time. Jesus was not offering a spiritual supplement. He was offering a source. Something that would not just fill you, but flow from you to every person you came near.
Phase 3 is about becoming that kind of person — someone so full of the Holy Spirit's rivers that wherever you go, there is refreshment. Not because you have the right words or the right strategy. Because you stayed long enough at the source to be genuinely full. The world around you is desperately thirsty. You do not need to manufacture what it needs. You need to let the rivers flow.
DAILY VERSE:
Whoever believes in me... rivers of living water will flow from within them. - John 7:38
PRAYER:
Holy Spirit, fill me until I overflow. I don’t want to just carry a cup of your presence — I want the rivers. Let there be something in me today that refreshes the people I encounter. Let my full cup spill onto others without me even trying. Come, Holy Spirit — flow through me freely. Amen.
FAST:
COMPLAINING FAST — All Day
Today, fast from all complaint — audible and internal. No venting about traffic, weather, inconveniences, or frustrations. When you feel the pull to complain, pause and redirect: name one thing you are grateful for in that moment. A spirit that complains cannot simultaneously be a river of living water. Gratitude opens the channels. Practice it all day.
