"The man who is hungry for God always seems to find Him. The problem is that most of us are too full of other things to have a real hunger." — A.W. Tozer
SCRIPTURE:
And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless for the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ — to the glory and praise of God.
DEVOTIONAL:
Paul prays for the Philippians not that they would do more, accomplish more, or build more. He prays that their love would abound more and more — and that it would do so with knowledge and depth of insight. This is a sanctified love — not just warm feelings about people, but a mature, discerning, Spirit-formed love that knows how to act. A love that is filled with the fruit of righteousness. A love that does not just mean well, but is actually good for the people it touches.
Twenty days ago, you may have started this fast feeling a little dry. A little numb. A little distant from the passion you once had. That is more common than you know, and God is not surprised by it. But here is what 20 days of intentional seeking does: it does not manufacture passion on demand — but it creates the conditions in which the Spirit can reignite what was smoldering.
You have made space. You have cleared debris. You have laid down some things that were crowding out the voice of God.
Tomorrow is Vision Sunday. It is meant to be a marker — not a finish line. Everything you have done over these 20 days has been preparing you to hear with greater clarity what God is saying to Declaration Church for the season ahead. Come tomorrow not as a passive recipient of information, but as someone who has done the inner work to receive a Word. You are ready. More ready than you know. The fruit of what you have sown in the secret place will show up in ways you cannot yet measure.
DAILY VERSE:
That your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight. -Philippians 1:9
PRAYER:
Lord, as I look back on these 20 days, I am grateful — even for the hard ones. Thank you for what you have been doing beneath the surface of my life when I couldn’t see it. Prepare me for tomorrow. I want to hear clearly. I want to respond fully. I want to be the kind of person who comes to Vision Sunday already leaning in — not needing to be convinced. I am yours. Speak, Lord. Your servant is listening. Amen.
