“Revival is not something God sends to impressive people. It is something God sends to prepared people. Prepare yourself — and revival comes to you.” — Smith Wigglesworth
SCRIPTURE:
In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams.
DEVOTIONAL:
Peter quotes Joel 2 on the day of Pentecost because the promise is finally being fulfilled in real time. Tongues of fire. A sound like a rushing wind. One hundred and twenty people in an upper room who had been doing exactly what you have been doing for 21 days: seeking, waiting, preparing, praying. And the Spirit fell. Not because they were impressive. Not because they had the right theology perfectly articulated. Because they were surrendered and available and together.
Declaration Church is a church built on this promise. Every time we gather, we are gathering as people who believe that God still pours out His Spirit. That sons and daughters still prophesy. That ordinary people still dream God-sized dreams. Today is a Vision Sunday — but every Sunday is meant to be a vision Sunday when the people who gather have done the inner work of 21 days of fasting and prayer.
You have done that work. You are not coming as empty spectators. You are coming as a prepared people, ready to receive and respond. Here is the final invitation: don’t hold back today. Sing like you mean it. Pray like you believe it. Respond when the Spirit moves. Let today be a marker in your life — a day you can look back on and say, “That is where something shifted”. The God who pours out His Spirit is looking for people whose cups are empty enough to be filled. Twenty-one days of fasting tends to empty the cup. Come ready. He is ready to pour.
DAILY VERSE:
I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy. -Acts 2:17
PRAYER:
God, I come to the end of 21 days with a full heart and open hands. Thank you for what you have done in me during this season. I don’t want to leave this season unchanged — and I don’t believe I am. Today I give you my full yes. To your vision. To your mission. To your calling on my life and on Declaration Church. Pour out your Spirit today — on your sons and daughters, on your young and old. Let today be a beginning, not just a conclusion. Pour it out, Lord. We are ready. Amen.
FAST:
VISION SUNDAY — Full Surrender Fast
Today’s fast is not about abstaining from a category of food or media — it is a fast of full surrender. As you prepare to gather for Vision Sunday, make a specific list of the things you are surrendering to God for the season ahead. Your plans. Your timeline. Your preferences about what Declaration Church should be. Your expectations about what God owes you. Lay it all down on paper, then bring that list to worship and lay it at the altar — literally or figuratively. This is how we receive vision: with empty hands.
